Public Speaking


Part 1, Theory (200 credits)

Course Description: The Public Speaking course is designed to help primary students develop the skills and confidence to speak in public. Through this course, students will learn about the basics of public speaking, developing critical thinking and communication skills, and practicing public speaking in various situations. The course will also cover the importance of developing confidence and overcoming anxiety.
Course Goals:
 Develop a deeper understanding of public speaking and its importance in personal and social development

 Practice public speaking in real-life scenarios
Course Structure: The Public Speaking course is divided into modules that focus on specific aspects of public speaking, including developing critical thinking and communication skills, practicing public speaking in various situations, and developing confidence and overcoming anxiety. Each module includes practical activities, discussions, and reflection exercises that will help students develop their public speaking skills.
Module 1: Introduction to Public Speaking
 Definition of public speaking and why it is important
 Understanding the basics of public speaking
 Developing critical thinking and communication skills to overcome obstacles to public
speaking
Module 2: Practicing Public Speaking in Real-Life Scenarios
 Identifying personal areas for improvement
 Developing strategies to practice public speaking in real-life scenarios
 Receiving feedback and support from peers and instructors
Module 3: Developing Confidence and Overcoming Anxiety
 Understanding the basics of developing confidence and overcoming anxiety
 Developing skills in self-affirmation and positive thinking
 Practicing confidence and anxiety management techniques through group activities and discussions
Evaluation and Assessment: The Public Speaking course will use a range of assessment methods, including observation, self-assessment, and formative and summative assessments. Teachers and instructors will evaluate students based on their participation in class activities, written assignments, projects, and reflection exercises. The curriculum will also provide opportunities for peer feedback and evaluation to foster a sense of collaboration and accountability. Students will receive regular feedback on their progress and be encouraged to reflect on their learning and personal growth.

Part 2, Self Evaluation + Peer Evaluation (800 credits)
for 8 times, 6 hours/time coaching on the first Saturdays of each month plus self + peer evaluation during the 8 months
